Campus-Wide Humanities & Ethics

To address the need for a cooperative understanding of ethics across health care specialties, UTHealth launched the Campus-Wide Ethics Program (CWEP) in 2009—the first of its kind in the nation. Members of CWEP were involved in improving the quality and quantity of ethics in the curricula of UTHealth’s six schools. As part of CWEP, the group was also heavily involved in the execution ofBeyond Silos: Ethics Education In and Across the Health Professions, the university’s previous Quality Enhancement Plan.

In 2016, CWEP evolved into the Campus-Wide Humanities & Ethics Program (CWHEP) and began focusing on topics beyond ethics that are needed in health professional education at UTHealth. The group’s proposal,Healthcare Policy for Health Professions (HP2)环宇,被选中ity as the next Quality Enhancement Plan.
