This year, we are celebrating 50 years of excellence in health care!

Established in 1969 as The University of Texas Medical School at Houston, our school welcomed its first class of 19 students in 1970. Since then, we have grown into the seventh largest medical school in the nation and a leader in health care innovation. While we have seen many advancements and changes through the years, our commitment to our signature values of compassion, collaboration, and curiosity remains the same. This is made possible, in large measure, by those who believe in and support our mission. As we celebrate our 50^thanniversary this year, we invite you to join us on our journey to discover, innovate, educate, and impact.

Giving to McGovern Medical School supports our students, faculty, and researchers. Since that first year, our faculty has trained more than 7,000 students in compassionate care and provided this same care to the community through millions of outpatient visits. Meanwhile, our researchers have changed the future of health care through scientific discoveries in many areas, including brain and behavioral health, women’s and children’s health, and healthy aging.

Dean’s Excellence Fund
