Biography
Dr. Marwan F. Jumean graduated with honors from the University of Jordan School of Medicine in Amman in 2006. He completed his residency in internal medicine and his clinical and research fellowships in cardiovascular diseases at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota and Tufts Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts.
Dr. Jumean is American board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular diseases, interventional cardiology, advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology, and nuclear cardiology. An Associate Professor in the Department of Advanced Heart Failure of UTHealth McGovern Medical School in Houston, he is currently the Program Director of theInterventional Heart Failure training program. His clinical and research interests include high-risk angioplasty, cardiogenic shock, the use of percutaneous mechanical assist devices in management of cardiogenic shock and acute heart failure, and ventricular assist device therapy complications.
He is the founder and director of the Houston Shock Symposium, an annual event that aims at advancing the field of cardiogenic shock diagnosis and management in a true multidisciplinary team approach. He is the recipient of several awards in his medical career including the Rising Star Award by theHouston Business Journalin 2019 and was named amongst Houstonia’sTop Doctorsin 2020.
