The mission of the Center for Global Health at McGovern is to advance clinical service, education and research activities aimed at addressing health disparities locally and globally. We aim to promote social justice and health equity, to enhance awareness in the medical school community of the unique challenges associated with healthcare delivery to marginalized populations, and to pioneer efforts to mitigate such challenges to improve health outcomes for all.

Our priorities include establishing collaborative efforts between McGovern Medical school, other University of Texas campuses, additional schools (both nationally and internationally) and global health organizations/institutions with the goal of providing robust, state of the art interdisciplinary training in global health. We are also building a centralized platform to facilitate and oversee the coordination and collaboration of global health activities conducted by faculty, trainees and students at the McGovern Medical School.
