My educational efforts have been focused on issues related to the medical school curriculum, medical student teaching and learning and scholarship, and faculty educator development.

My aims in all activities is:
– to assist learners in advancing their medical knowledge, skills, and professional development

Biography

Gary Rosenfeld joined the Department of Pharmacology (now Integrative Biology and Pharmacology, IBP) of the new UT Medical School at Houston in 1972 (now the UT Health Sciences Houston McGovern Medical School), with an affiliation in the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences (GSBS). He is currently a Professor in IBP and an Associate Dean in the Office of Educational Programs (OEP). Dr. Rosenfeld is recognized nationally as an educator with decades of experience working with medical students to enhance their academic and professional development.

Education

Dr. Rosenfeld received his PhD in pharmacology from the University of Chicago. Prior to his faculty appointment in Houston he trained in molecular endocrinology at the Max Planck Institute for Cell Biology in Wilhelmshaven, Germany, and at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. Additional professional training was received at Baylor College of Medicine, and Harvard University School of Medicine.
