Pediatric Rehabilitation Program

Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine specializes in the management of children and youth with disabilities, including congenital or acquired conditions. Our primary focus is to maximize development, function and independence, restoring and recovering. We also assist in advocating and educating patients, families and the community, no matter the diagnosis or condition, to try to maximize inclusion and re-integration. As pediatric physiatrists (rehabilitation doctors for children), we understand how growth and development may play into the management of disabilities in youth.

Our program serves youth, from 0 to 17 years of age. We also work closely with adult rehabilitation specialists to assist with transitioning of patients older than 16 years of age. Referrals are accepted from other physicians, community providers, or by self-referral. Patients enrolled in managed care insurance plans may require authorization from the insurance provider and primary care physician.
