A GRA position is available at the Bioinformatics Team of Dr. Pora Kim at the School of Biomedical Informatics.
The student will develop multiple deep learning algorithms and bioinformatics tools to answer biology questions. The mainly used datasets are gene expression, mutation, DNA sequence, RNA sequence, protein sequences, and DNA breakpoint information. From this biological information, we want to identify key features of genomic breakage and actively translated genes.
The candidate must be currently enrolled as a student in an SBMI program. Ph.D. students with experience in machine learning and statistics on the computational and bioinformatical track are preferred. Students interested in this position should submit a CV to Dr. Pora Kim atpora.kim@uth.tmc.edu.
