TAMIU Baccalaureate Accelerated Program (4 + 1) Certificate in Biomedical Informatics

Students who are accepted into the BAP (4+1) program will complete select graduate courses during their last year of undergraduate study which will simultaneously satisfy remaining undergraduate requirements as well as program requirements for the Certificate in Biomedical Informatics. During the last semester of undergraduate study, students will apply to the graduate degree program at SBMI to complete the remaining semester credit hours required for the Master of Science in Biomedical Informatics. The remaining 30 semester credit hours can be completed in one year, if enrolled full-time.

BAP (4+1) program graduates will have the education, skill set and experience needed to enter the workforce in a variety of biomedical informatics fields. Students will be well prepared to continue with their education through doctoral studies or in professional degrees such as nursing, medicine, dentistry or pharmacy.
