Three retired faculty members of UTHealth School of Dentistry at Houston have been awarded “associate professor emeritus” status by The University of Texas System. The new honorees include:

  • Jeffrey Hoover, DMD, MS, associate professor and former chair of the Department of Endodontics;
  • John R. Ludington, DDS, MSD, associate professor and former chair of the Department of Endodontics;
  • Darla McKitrick, RDH, MS, associate professor, Department of Periodontics and Dental Hygiene.

UT awards the emeritus title to retired faculty in recognition of distinguished service. It is not automatic upon retirement and may be conferred only with approval of the institution’s president or designee.
