UTHealth Houston remains open and operational. While the City of Houston is under a boil water notice, employees and students are asked not to drink tap water, including in coffee, refrigerator, and ice machines. Use bottled water instead for drinking. Hand sanitizer is readily available across campus. Only UTHealth Houston School of Dentistry clinics are closed on Nov. 28, 2022. All other UTHealth Houston facilities are open.

The Recreation Center remains open, however if you plan to use the facility be aware of the following:

  1. The swimming pool has been temporarily closed.
  2. The showers remain open, but they are recommend for limited use.
  3. Please bring you own water bottle and stay hydrated while exercising.

Once the City has lifted the boil water notice,UTHealth Houston's Facilities, Planning and Engineering will work to flush water lines throughout our buildings, and Environmental Health and Safety team will independently verify water quality in our buildings by collecting water samples for analysis by a third-party laboratory.
