Professional Care

The School of Dentistry offers three levels of service in general dentistry. If cost is your major concern, ourStudent Clinicsprovide the most affordable care, but please allow extra time for each appointment, as students work at a slow and careful pace under faculty supervision. If your time is precious, appointments with our Faculty Practice (UT Dentists) typically last about 45 minutes. If your needs fall somewhere in between, take a look at our Graduate Clinics, where new dentists gain experience and expertise in their chosen specialties.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

community-outreach-gkas-2019

UTSD works with community partners to reach the most vulnerable populations, because those who need oral health care the most are sometimes the least able to access it.

Our community outreach includes special projects (Give Vets A Smile, Give Kids A Smile®) and an adult mobile dental van, which makes visits throughout Houston and to East Texas through partnerships to treat patients who have limited access to care. These projects allow for community service learning for dental and dental hygiene students and residents by providing opportunities for social responsibility.

For more information, contact Community Outreach DirectorMargo Melchor, RDH, EdD.
