Scholarships and Fellowships

Today, the students and fellows across the six regional campuses of the School of Public Health are passionate and committed learners. Tomorrow, they are leaders of public health programs in universities, the private sector, and government organizations in Texas and across the nation, and the researchers whose work helps solve the toughest health challenges.

Scholarships and Fellowships -SPH

At each School of Public Health campus, educators and learners alike share a commitment to exploring the unique racial, geographic, and economic factors that shape the health of populations in the region. The work they do locally has the potential to impact health outcomes across the world.

  • The Houston campus, located in the world’s largest medical center, offers graduate and dual degree programs. Through these programs, students learn from leading health experts across the six schools of UTHealth and partner with institutions in the Texas Medical Center and universities throughout Texas.
  • The Austin campusprovides graduate programs and several dual degree programs in partnership with The University of Texas at Austin, offering students unparalleled opportunities to work on local projects with national significance.
  • The Brownsville campus, which includes one of the most comprehensive authoritative research groups on Mexican American health in the United States, empowers students to champion health initiatives in this underserved region of South Texas.
  • The Dallas campusenables students to gain experience in critical health issues like cancer, obesity, and maternal-child health through robust degree programs that are rooted in the surrounding community and UT Southwestern Medical Center.
  • The El Paso campusoffers graduate and dual degree programs that teach students to tackle complex public health issues unique to local populations and develop solutions that improve health outcomes for multi-cultural communities.
  • The San Antonio campusallows students to develop comprehensive health strategies with other universities, military organizations, and community groups through innovative MD/MPH and MBA/MPH dual degree programs, in addition to traditional graduate public health programs.

Scholarships and fellowships provide the School of Public Health with the means to attract the brightest minds, many of whom may not be able to nurture their talent without the benefit of financial assistance.

  • My experiences living in a border community with a large minority population has pushed me to become a public health expert to give back to my community by addressing health disparities and improving health. This scholarship is further motivation in that journey, and it allows me to gain invaluable experience as a doctoral student and public health professional.

  • Scholarships

    A scholarship fund supports students who will go on to enhance the health of our communities. Scholarships are awarded based on academic merit, financial need, and/or other factors in accordance with a donor’s wishes.

  • Fellowships

    Fellowships support graduate students and postdoctoral research fellows, providing our students and trainees with the resources to further their continued education.
