M S Zobaer, PhD

Postdoctoral Research Fellow

Biography

Dr. M S Zobaer completed his MSc from Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh, in 2012 obtaining CGPA 3.98 out of 4 scale. His thesis topic was dusty plasma systems. In 2013, he joined as a Lecturer at a public university in Bangladesh. Next year, he went to The University of Sydney, Australia, for PhD in neuroscience via physiology-based mathematical modeling. After PhD, he went to China for his first Postdoctoral Research Fellowship and then joined at UTHealth, Texas, in late 2019. At present, he is working on EEG data, signal processing, neural activity, and frequency bands for the brain waves.

Research Description

Dr. M S Zobaer is working to analyze Local Field Potentials (LFPs) via EEG data from the cortex and hippocampus to make a better understanding of the change in brain waves for different conditions of movement (like fast, slow, stop, acceleration, and deceleration periods). He is also working on a computational tool to study those oscillating responses and how corresponding responses vary from each other as well. His aim is to explain the brain dynamics with common/basis logic/language of science so that other researchers from different backgrounds could understand them easily.
