- SBMI Student Angela Villanueva and Alumnus Alexander Zarutskie co-authored and presented a poster earlier this month. They placed third in the Roy M. Huffington Distinguished Lecture poster session category of Clinical Research.

NCHS/AcademyHealth Health Policy Scholars Program We encourage SBMI students to explore the NCHS/AcademyHealth Health Policy Scholars Program. Participants have the opportunity to address
importantissues in health policy by conducting studies and research at your institution, using restricted data from
NationalCenter for Health Statistics (NCHS) data systems and programs. During this 12-month program, participants will:
- Gain access to
restricteddata file(s) (free-of-charge) through the NCHS Research Data Center (RDC), and potentially other Federal Statistical Research Dat
a Centers(FSRDC).
- Collaborate with and learn from seasoned NCHS staff with technical expertise related to your research.
- Acquire firsthand experience conducting studies to address
importantissues in health policy.
- Continue your professional development by presenting your research and attending the AcademyHealth Annual Research Meeting, the premier event in Health Services Research.
