Biography

Dr. Salas-Vargas received her medical degree from the Universidad de Costa Rica. After Internal medicine residency, she was Assistant Professor at the University of Costa Rica for several years.

In 2009 she moved to the USA, completed internal medicine residency at Yale New Haven Health System and Infectious Diseases fellowship at Cleveland Clinic in Ohio.

She is board certified by ABIM in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases.

She is interested in orthopedic, post-surgical and nosocomial infections, multidrug resistant organisms, infections in immunocompromised hosts and antibiotic stewardship.
