Education

The aim of the Division of Geriatric and Palliative Medicine is to foster geriatric education in the health care field as well as the community.

Faculty

The division is composed of fellowship-trained geriatricians, palliative medicine physicians, advanced practice providers and researchers that all have the common goal of improving today’s growing elderly population.

TEAM Institute

The Texas Elder Abuse and Mistreatment Institute (TEAM) has provided care for over 2000 mistreated elders giving the members the largest clinical experience in the US – since 1995. Its mission is to improve the lives of mistreated elders through clinical care, education and research.

Consortium on Aging

The Consortium is a university-wide collaborative effort that leverages the existing strengths and expertise of all the UTHealth schools, including the McGovern Medical School, Schools of Nursing, Dentistry, Public Health, Biomedical Informatics, and Biomedical Sciences. Focusing on aging-related interdisciplinary care, education, research, and community outreach, the role of the Consortium is to foster collaboration among the schools and centers of UTHealth.

Houston Geriatric Education Center (H-GEC)

H-GEC establishes a collaborative partnership in geriatric education and training among interdisciplinary faculty from UTHealth, Woman’s University, and the University of Houston.
