The Pediatric Cardiothoracic Anesthesia team at McGovern Medical School has theexpertise, experience, and compassionto care for the neonate, child, and adult with Congenital Heart Disease. Our team partners with theChildren’s Heart InstituteatChildren’s Memorial Hermann Hospital, located in the heart of Houston’s Texas Medical Center. We play a crucial role in coordinating a “best practice, team-based approach” to ensure successful perioperative outcomes.

The Children’s Heart Institute is a rapidly expanding program in the Greater Houston area. The goal of the Institute is to advance innovative solutions geared towards high-quality outcomes and for patients to lead a normal life. It hasearned the highest accolades from The Society of Thoracic Surgeons for perioperative outcomeswith a distinguished three out of three-star rating, placing it within the top 6% of congenital heart surgery centers in North America. The Heart Center caters to a wide array of congenital heart conditions and receives referrals from:

• Texas Fetal Center
• UT and non-UT affiliated clinics in the Greater Houston Area
• Neonatal ICUs located at Children’s Memorial Hermann and its branches, Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital, UTMB Galveston, The Women’s Hospital of Texas, and other regional hospitals.
