Military Medical Student Association (MMSA)

MMSA, McGovern Medical School chapter, is committed to teaching medical students about military medicine and forming contacts between current military students and faculty to ensure military students’ success at McGovern and in their future careers.

We collaborate directly with Baylor Medical School and encourage all Houston-based military medical students to join us for meetings and support.

MMSA focuses are mentorship, guidance, networking, and volunteer opportunities.

Meeting Dates for the 2021-2022 Academic Year:

  • Sept. 28th @ 5:30pm– Intros/FAQs
  • November 2021– Active Duty Doctor Specialty Talk
  • January 2022– MS4 Tips on Rotations/Matching
  • March 2022– Mentorship with Dr. Porea
