Biography

Dr. Lapus serves as the McGovern Medical School Department of Emergency Medicine Director of Pediatric Clinical Operations. He oversees pediatric clinical operations at Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital, as well as for our pediatric emergency medicine community sites. He joined the UT faculty in 2009 after completing a fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at the University of Alabama, Birmingham. He has salary support from the NIH and CDC as a Co-Investigator looking at cognitive and developmental outcomes in children who have suffered a traumatic brain injury. He is a recipient of the Dean’s Teaching Excellence Award.
