Biography
Dr. Ritvij Bowry is a board-certified neurologist who specializes in Neurocritical Care, with specific interest in strokes and vascular neurology. Dr. Bowry earned his medical degree at the Ross University School of Medicine in Miramar, Florida. After completing his Residency at the New York University Medical Center and an internship at the New York Presbyterian Hospital in Queens, he joined the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) as a fellow, concentrating on both Neurocritical Care and Stroke/Vascular Neurology.
Dr. Bowry’s clinical and research interests include Neurocritical Care and acute pre-hospital neurological emergency care, including acute pre-hospital stroke care. His primary research focus is the BEST-MSU study (Benefits of Stroke Treatment using a Mobile Stroke Unit), in which he is the co-investigator alongside Dr. James Grotta, the study’s principal investigator. The BEST-MSU study is a multi-center study that seeks to measure the benefit of delivering acute stroke treatment using an ambulance equipped with a CT scanner compared to standard stroke management in the emergency department.
