David I Sandberg, M.D. is Associate Professor and Director of Pediatric Neurosurgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. He also serves as Co-Director of the combined pediatric brain tumor program between MD Anderson Cancer Center and Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital. Dr. Sandberg received his undergraduate degree from Harvard University, his medical degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, and completed neurosurgery residency training at Weill Medical College of Cornell University/New York Presbyterian Hospital. After residency, he completed fellowship training in pediatric neurosurgery at the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, which is affiliated with the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California.

Dr. Sandberg’s major research interests focus on novel means of delivering therapeutic agents into the brain for the treatment of childhood brain tumors.
