Ibrahim Alava, MD, is Associate Professor in the Department Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (ORL-HNS). He received his medical degree from The University of Miami, Miami, FL. After medical school, he completed his internship and residency at the University of Texas – Medical School at Houston. His clinical interests include endocrine head and neck surgery, skin cancers of the head and neck, and all aspects of general otolaryngology. Dr. Ibrahim Alava’s research interests center on patient-centered outcomes, health care disparities, and health care delivery modeling. He is Chief of Service for ORL-HNS at Lyndon B. Johnson General Hospital and he is the medical director for Specialty Clinics at LBJ/OC. He has worked on numerous process improvement projects with Harris Health and Memorial Hermann System.
