Approximately 60% of our students come from underrepresented groups, bringing with them experiences and perspectives that will shape nursing education, practice, and research in the decades to come as we work to create a more equitable access to high-quality health care throughout our community and the nation.

As an emergency nurse practitioner,Assistant Dean of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Elda Ramirez, PhD, ENP-C, FAAN, knows that illness and injury don’t discriminate. Promoting opportunities for inclusion and understanding among health care professionals is an important step in eliminating inequalities in the treatment patients receive.
