Adult/Gerontology Primary Care NP Track at a Glance
The Adult/Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP) specialty track at Cizik School of Nursing at UTHealth Houston prepares you to work with adults from adolescence throughout the lifespan with a focus on promoting healthy lifestyles, preventing disease, and managing illnesses. When you earn your DNP degree on the AGPCNP track from UTHealth Houston, you join one of the top-ranked nursing programs in Texas. Thanks to our hybrid course options, you can work toward AGPCNP certification exams and benefit from hands-on clinical practice either in the world-famous Texas Medical Center or where you live.
Upon completion, you can apply to take the national certification exam offered by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB). Once certified, you can then apply for an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license in Texas
