How does the diversity committee benefit me?
We are dedicated to serving ALL of our valued residents, anesthesia assistants, faculty and staff. Through our advocacy, informal advising, and programs we want each individual to know they are part of a supportive environment in order to succeed.

Who should I contact with questions or suggestions?
We are an easy approachable group please check out the member section link. Please feel free to approach us, whether it be informally in the hallways or a more formal meeting.

How do I become a member of the diversity and inclusion committee?
We are currently in our inaugural year with much to do! If you would like to contribute please contact our Vice Chair of Diversity and Inclusion,Omonele Nwokolo, M.D.

Are there opportunities for community outreach?
Yes! Not only do we want to encourage and support our own department, but also, we plan to partner with other undergraduate and medical student organizations to increase outreach and showcase various aspects of diversity.

How do I report an incident of bias, discrimination, or hate?
While education and prevention are important in discrimination prevention sometimes it is not enough. If an issue arises please bring it to our attention immediately. We can provide support and assist in navigating medical school and hospital policies in order to ensure you concerns are taken care of.

Why is the anesthesia department one of the first to have a diversity and inclusion committee? Is diversity a problem within your department?
Not at all! In fact, click the Department Diversity Fact Sheet link below to see just how much of a diverse group we really are! We embrace and encourage diversity. Our biggest strength is that as a group we draw from our wide range of perspectives and experiences.
