Robert H. Vonderheide, MD, DPhil, is director of the Abramson Cancer Center and the John H. Glick, MD Abramson Cancer Center’s Director Professor at the University of Pennsylvania. He is vice dean and vice president of Cancer Programs for the Perelman School of Medicine and the University of Pennsylvania Health System. Dr. Vonderheide is a distinguished laboratory scientist, clinician, and cancer leader who has deciphered mechanisms of cancer immune surveillance and developed novel cancer immunotherapies with a particular focus on pancreatic cancer. He is a member of the NCI Board of Scientific Advisers, serves on the external advisory boards of 7 comprehensive cancer centers, multiple SPORE, P01s and research foundations, pressing the cause for basic and translational science, clinical trial reform, and equal access of minority patients to cancer care and clinical trials. He serves on the boards of directors for the National Comprehensive Cancer Network and the American Association of Cancer Institute. He is Chair of the Program Committee for the 2023 AACR Annual Meeting.
