我们的项目是致力于培训临床x射线检验ologists who will practice in a variety of academic and private settings. We accept 13 residents per year, 10 residents in Diagnostic Radiology (DR) and 3 residents in the Integrated IR residency program, which is sponsored by UTHealth.
Our main teaching hospitals include Memorial Hermann Hospital- Texas Medical Center (MHH-TMC), Lyndon B. Johnson (LBJ) Hospital and MD Anderson Cancer Center (MDACC). We are also affiliated with Texas Children’s Hospital (TCH). We have over 150 faculty members across these institutions. Residents are exposed to a large variety of cases and experience imaging in the inpatient, outpatient and emergency settings. We have a Trauma Level 1 Emergency Department at MHH-TMC, a full range of medical services at LBJ Hospital, and a top cancer center at MDACC. Our location in the Texas Medical Center, the largest in the world, provides a unique training experience with access to numerous faculty, resources, and research opportunities. Houston is a large metropolitan city, and its diversity provides the opportunity for incredible variety and ample volume.
Our mission is to prepare residents for independent practice through training in a variety of settings, foster a supportive learning environment, provide a quality education, and deliver outstanding patient-centered care.
Teaching is fundamental to our mission. Residents attend daily noon conferences, led by faculty in all radiologic subspecialties. We have a comprehensive Physics curriculum and didactic series. Residents participate in multidisciplinary conferences, receive one-on-one training from faculty, and learn how to teach others. Our first-year residents attend the Fundamentals of Radiology course, which occurs every Wednesday afternoon throughout the entire first year of residency, to learn the basics of imaging and to prepare them for call. Under the guidance of a mentor, all residents participate in scholarly activities and quality assurance projects. Residents attend the 4-week American Institute for Radiologic Pathology (AIRP) course during the second year of training, subsidized by the program. We offer an Early Specialization in Interventional Radiology (ESIR) pathway during the senior year. Senior residents may also select the MDACC Resident Research Pathway to focus on a research project during their final year of residency. We offer the 16-month pathway to dual certification in Diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Radiology. Residents receive excellent preparation for the American Board of Radiology examinations.

Our graduates are proficient in all areas of radiology, ready to work independently and have the skills to succeed in any fellowship or practice setting.
