Leadership and Direction

Overarching institutional direction is provided to Safety, Health, Environment & Risk Management (SHERM) by the UTHealth Safety Council, which is comprised of faculty, management, classified staff and student representation. Expert guidance in specific risk areas is provided by the faculty-guided Biological Safety, Chemical Safety, and Radiation Safety Committees.

SHERM organizationally reports toAcademic and Research Affairs, with a secondary reporting line to Finance and Administration for designated risk management and insurance matters.
