Emergency and Everyday Use of Elastomeric Respirators in Healthcare (JET FIT Texas)

The purpose of this project is to examine the feasibility of elastomeric respirator use among healthcare workers. The JET FIT Texas project is a collaborative effort of a multi-disciplinary team from four entities in the Texas Medical Center. Together, the team (1) delivers training and conducts emergency fit testing; (2) assesses the feasibility of using elastomeric respirators at the bedside while providing direct patient care; and (3) tests two approaches to disinfect elastomeric respirators.
