Marie McBee brings to the Department of Graduate Studies 20 years of experience in senior-level hospital administration as a Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Vice President, Quality Officer and Risk Director at the local, state, and national levels of health care. She is educated as a clinical nurse specialist in advance practice in Psychiatric Mental Health and in leadership at the master’s level.
Dr. McBee currently teaches in the Graduate, Leadership Program and the Doctor of Nursing Practice Program and is a past lead coordinator for the undergraduate Psych/Mental Health clinical program at The Cizik School of Nursing at the University of Texas Health Science Center (UTHealth) at Houston. She earned her BSN degree from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, Texas, and her MSN in Mental Health and Leadership at The Cizik School of Nursing. Her Doctor of Nursing Practice is from the University of Alabama Birmingham, in Executive Leadership.
Dr. McBee Is AACN Board Certified as an Advance Nurse Executive. She is also a 2014 American Association of Colleges of Nurses Scholar through the Johnson and Johnson Minority Scholars Program.
