Padmavathy Ramaswamy has been a practicing Family Nurse Practitioner for over 20 years. Her clinical experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner spans the population spectrum. At the Cizik School of Nursing, she teaches primarily in the Family nurse practitioner program teaching didactic courses and research courses. She is also a member of the Center for Interprofessional Collaboration at UTHealth.
Dr. Ramaswamy maintains a clinical practice at UH Student Health Center. She has been a faculty of UTHealth Cizik School of Nursing since 2016. Her research interest focuses on use of mHealth technology in disease prevention and health promotion. Her special interest is in the use of technology in older adults.
Ramaswamy received her BSN from University of Pune, India. She received her MPH and MSN from East Tennessee State University, Tennessee. She also received her certificate in Applied Health Informatics from SBMI, UTHealth and PhD in Nursing from the Cizik School of Nursing, UTHealth.
