Clinical Education

Cizik School of Nursing relies on clinical preceptors and clinics in the community to help educate our students. The school maintains over 200 clinical affiliations, including all agencies in the Texas Medical Center and many in the broader community.

All types of clinical agencies, including community outpatient clinics and the offices of private practitioners – throughout Houston and beyond – provide students with necessary clinical experience. Among the many affiliated institutions are:

Students also have opportunities for learning experiences in neighborhood health centers, nursing homes, day care centers, city and county health departments, mental health facilities and other settings. The School’s own nurse-managed clinic,UT Health Services, established in 1991, also provides a unique opportunity for clinical training.
