Emergency / Trauma Care

Cizik护理学院Emergency/Trauma Care concentration focuses on different aspects of emergency care and is offered as a post-graduate certificate or as an add on concentration to the Family Nurse Practitioner MSN. Students enrolled in the program will focus on patient presentations in emergency departments and acute ambulatory care settings including resuscitative trauma. Additionally, students will acquire knowledge in high acuity emergency presentations including management of chronic disease exacerbation.

Graduates of the advanced practice degrees are eligible to take national certification exams and eligible for licensure as an Advance Practice Nurse in Texas.其他州的要求在申请高级实践状态或许可证之前，变化和毕业生应检查各个州的要求。

Concurrent Student Enrollment– Students who are enrolled in the Cizik School of Nursing Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) MSN program are eligible to request admission into the Emergency/Trauma Care (ETC) concentration. The ETC didactic courses will be taken concurrently with the student’s other graduate courses. The clinical component will be taken the semester after graduations from the primary MSN program. MSN students start the ETC sequence either during or after FNP I.

Post-Graduate Completion -Advanced practice registered nurses (APRN) are eligible to apply as a post-master’s program applicant. Upon completion, students will receive a recognition of achievement issued from the School of Nursing. A transcript noting the courses taken will also be available.

The funds, when available, are intended to help students cover lost wages due to the heavy clinical load in the third semester. Admitted ETC students classified as Texas residents for tuition purposes are considered for funding.

The ETC is a distance-based program. The didactic courses will be delivered mostly online with all students being required to attend class every semester for 3-4 consecutive days. Please note courses ending with a "B" are clinical courses(these courses may incur additional fees); courses with a 'W' are web-based.
